Hi.
my cd will not work in my stock monsoon stereo so I'm thinking about getting an aftermarket stereo with the metra 99 3303 kit.

I was wondering if anyone knows if I will be needing to do some kind of extra wiring since my car has the monsoon system.

And also, which one of the metra kits is better? I seem to find 2 different kinds when I search them.

I was trying to find out about that the whole day yesterday, but couldn't find any exact answers.
i'm not sure if i can instal an aftermarket because of the built in amp and what not

It would be pretty easy to do if you run your speaker wires from your new head unit to the amp and just tie onto the output wires.

so all the wires from the stereo first go to the amp? which is in the trunk right?

Yes. I think the factory radio sends low voltage output to the amp. the amp then amplifies and splits the signal 2 ways for each speaker. Highs and lows. you can just run your speaker wires and tie onto the high/lows for each speaker and bypass the factory amp. But that's a educated guess.

if you want to install an aftermarket amp ...I used a "MTX RE-Q" spliced right into my rear speaker wires in the trunk into the RE-Q then into the amp. was easy and works good.

ALso, does anyone know if I need that special harness to keep all the beeps and stuff?
