I recently just purchased a used 2005 Pontiac G6 V6. The keyless entry remote that comes with the car is a little messed up though. Only the trunk, horn, and sometimes lock buttons work on the remote, the rest are unresponsive. There is a brand new battery in it too. Now i have to resort to manually locking the door with the key and every time i unlock the car, the alarm goes off. Dnt have the money right now to replace the remote so any way to keep the alarm from going off? Its really embarrassing and i have to jump into the car and turn it on before it does the really loud 30 second alarm...

I don’t know about turning the alarm off but on eBay you can buy a brand new keypad for less than ten bucks and sometimes that is the problem especially when only certain buttons work on and off. I was having a similar problem with mine and I tried that but unfortunately that was the case for me but it is a much cheaper option instead of spending the big bucks on the remote. If that doesn’t fix the problem you can also purchase a new remote for real cheap (I am not sure of the website but I can find it for you, the same place I got mine from for $30 bucks) the dealership programmed it for free and reprogrammed the other one for free as well! :]

Sometimes problems with alarms/remotestart/keyless after a new battery replacement can result from reversing terminals on the battery. (i.e. putting positive wire on neg and neg on positive)

Mainly the aftermarket though just because they use such small current without blowing any ignition fuses.

As for stock I am not sure, your battery may be going dead in the fob but weird that you can't unlock with the key because normally on factory you can, just not aftermarket. Very interesting..

You may want to try a new fob and reprogram it.

On mine if you lock it manually the alarm wont be set.
