So I've always Kind Of like the look of the angle eyes. You know those rings that go around the headlights. but I never really liked the eagle eyes I found...

In fact I never really liked any aftermarket headlights I found for the G6, except the stock style ones with a black housing. but I found this...

And thought it looked kind of cool, and it's probably pretty easy to make. What do you all think?

I think if you like it, go for it. There are a few tutorials about how to add halo's to headlights that are pretty descriptive.. They would be one of a kind!

Well because as it stands, I have a set of stock headlights, where that parking light lens is clear, not amber. I plan to pain the housings black. And maybe add those halos. I just might go through will all of it. I've thought about somehow adding projector lenses to the stock housing, but that'll be complicated.

What I think would be cool is if there's a way to alter the reflective cone so it'll reflect the HID light better and be closer to the halogen light spread. But we'll see... haha

I mean.. obviously it's been done, I found that pic on cardomain. You'd be surprised a lot of g6 owners have some pretty extensive mods on cardomain, but none of them on the forums...

I'm also not sure where to begin to add those, It clearly looks like a strip of LED lights, because it's not one constant light, but a bunch of smaller ones, which is still nice. but would I simply just get a strip and stick it on? or how should I go about it, I've been looking for tutorials.

I found a kit on ebay. But it's just way over-priced

I have these. They are made by Oracle. ( I should say I had these, and am ordering a new set, I got into a front right end accident and smashed the headlight and xenon ballast- nice $400 aftermarket f-up.) I want the SMD ones- I don't really like the CCFL version. LED's look so much better and in order to do this you have to take apart the lens of the headlight by heating and prying. Essentially putting them in to an oven and cooking them for few minutes. But yea- I like these better and nobody really has them-

Just don't buyt those cheap $10 LED strips from eBay because you definitely want something that may not fail in such little time. and they don't look as good. Oracle's Halos are nice, yes a little pricey but every bit of LED on my car is Oracle and I had problems with the T-10's for Maps and they kept going out, they kept replacing me, then eventually upgraded me to the brighter one. So yea Oracles Halos/ accstyle.com is where I got all my LED's.

Interior- 4 pc 3 Million UFO LED kit add-on, ALL hyperwhite LED map, dome, and side markers,
Audio- (2)- Kicker L7's, Kicker 1500.1, 40 Farad Tsunami Cap, Yellow Top Battery, 0 Awg Amp Kit Kicker, Kenwood DDX-616 Double Din Head unit, Custom mounted Info Center in Center console
Electronics- Escort 9500ix, Python Security 990 with window mods, tilt sensor, glass break sensor and 2-piezo sirens for interior.

Well I recently got a set of OEM Headlights that I will be opening up and painting. Thing is I figure while I'm in there I can add the halos. thing is I cant find ANYTHING ANYWHERE that won't cost an arm and a leg. I would prefer to go LED but have no idea how to go about doing it. LED strips seem cheap and probably wont work out too well..

saw a video that someone posted a while ago that showed a DIYer baking a window blind "adjuster" (the clear stick thing that adjusts how much light is allowed through traditional blinds) and fab'd a couple of LED's on either end and actually looked pretty awesome. let me try to find that video...

if you're painting the housings black i wonder what would happen to the light output if you black chrome paint the reflectors? i think that would look sick
You wouldn't have functional headlights

The original picture that was posted was a Angel Eye kit that was fitted on a G6 over on G6Performance (http://g6performance.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14089&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=halo's&start=210)

I wouldn't recommend doing any of this, but if you insist, then don't use LEDs as halos.

I looked at what Dmanj posted. And the write-up makes it look like quite the hassle and the outcome isn't bad. But not quite what I'm looking for. I'm sure I could spend the time to figure it out and make it work... buuuut I think I'll skip on this idea, and just paint my housings instead, haha

I would think that the brightness coming off of the reflector would be a little less. Making it harder to see... Sounds like a cool idea though. I would try it... but I don't want to risk damaging the headlights and having to try and figure out how to undo it...

But... you gave me an idea. When I crack open my lights and paint the housings I think i'll be painting it with Black Chrome paint instead of Black satin or something, Should look good I think.

I was looking into getting the spyder halo headlights with the black housing are they decent headlights or no? On another post someone said not to get the spyder ones but I haven't found any other brands with the black housing
