Anyone get ashtray option?

I see that GM parts offers an ashtray for the G6.
If you have installed it, where does it go?
Easy to reach? Is it illuminated? Is it deep?
Can you post a photo or two?
Thanks.

its a small pullout under the fog light/ gauge dimmer to the left of the steering wheel.
actually i think thats a place to put change. The ashtray option is just a lighter and a cup holder ashtray.
Or a place to hide your stash.

Funny story: I took my first G6 into the dealer to be detailed a few months after I bought it used. When I came back to get it, this really young guy that was working there came up to me real secretively and whispered to me that I should be careful about what I leave in the car when I bring it in for service. I didn't know what he was talking about and asked him to show me.

So we go over to the car and he opens that little drawer and inside was sitting a little pot pipe! Ha! I had no idea that there was a drawer there.

The kid offered to take it off my hands as he "has some friends that could use it."

I love hidden compartments.
well now i feel like an idiot! but yeah, i do just use it to hold a cigarette or two and my lighter.
I dont smoke.....anymore haha

But this thread gave me an idea where to hide some switches i always forget that drawer is there and ive had this car for 5 years!

so it was getting detailed they must really like to check things out.
Wha...? There's a drawer under the fog light/pedal/dimmer switches?

**...goes out to the G6 to take a peek**

Well, I'll be damned. How'd I not notice that before? Been wondering where to throw the spare change.

**...hides a sneak-a-toke in there**
:D
I've put 80K on my GT (bought it new), drive it everyday and I'll be damned. I never knew it was there either! When I read this, I had to go outside and check and sure enough, it's there. I can't tell you how many times I've wished for a place to put coins or other small items I leave in the cup holder area. I didn't check, but does it come out easily for cleaning? Thanks for the info.
