While my 07 G6 languishes at the dealer having the top fixed ("top not secure" message) I have been doing some checking to see if there is an alternative to the GM tech2 scanner and found a product called the Autoenginuity Scanner. It is software and a cable for a laptop or PDA that interfaces with the computer. An OEM add in module is available that lets you check and control the same sensors and motors as the Tech2. Cost is around $500.
Has anyone tried this software? As the car gets older and repairs more frequent it may be a required item with the convertible.
