Bad connection between the BCM harness connector and the socket. Some of the pins get corroded and cause problems such as brake lights staying on, or not coming on, or reverse of normal operation. The fix most here have used, before the recall, is to clean the connector and add some dielectric grease to the pins.
I got my letter in the mail.
I don't know how I feel about taking it in though.
I did get the reverse operation symptoms where they lit up while driving and turned off when I pressed the brake pedal.
Once that happened I cleaned it with electronics cleaner and a lot of plug/unplug action then greased it with dielectric grease (way too much probably) and never had a problem since.
I'd rather they just give me whatever add-on part it is ha.
I just bought a 2007 G6 GT Sedan. According to the build sheet my dad was pull for me, it has RPO AP3 LOCK CONTROL REMOTE, KEYLESS ENTRY, START. However, when I try to start it the brake lights flash once and that is it. Saw somewhere that I can just bypass the hood latch to get it working...
I just noticed today that the 2007 G6 GT I bought yesterday only has three factory wheels and one aftermarket wheel. How dark are the factory black chrome ones? According to it's build sheet, that's what it should have.
