No, it is not because the motor couldn't handle all of the stress. Its because you didn't do things right (or went cheap, or both).

I never looked into the G6 'chips' but I'd never get a chip installed on any of my cars. A professional tune or professional tuner who sells 'canned' tunes is what's needed.

Just throwing a bunch of junk on a car doesn't make it faster.
