I had a hitch installed at UHaul. I've towed a small (5x8) UHaul trailer from Washington DC to Tampa, and from Tallahassee FL to north Alabama. No problems...'cept my fuel mileage dropped to 12mpg with my usual 31mpg 4-banger!
A while back I did some research on trailer hitches for my Civic and my G6. All I would ever tow is a set of bicyles on a rack but the hitches themselves are very sturdy.May I ask what hitch you went with?

I found a hitch and waiting to get it installed, I'm not towing anything crazy, just a small 13 1/2 boat which the trailer weighs like 145 and the boast like 40-50lbs, I should be good.
