i work at a body shop.

when they paint the car first they put a few coats of paint on the body and then clear. so it's not one layer. if you scratched it hard enough to get all the way through the clear coat down to the paint then you probably want to get it painted. the only way to cover it up without having to pain would be touch up but that usually looks like crap especially on the driver door.

you can get a cheap remote from eBay and get it programmed. in total it will cost you about $50. Remote would be about $15 and programming is $35.

well it depends. it's kinda pricey. take it to a body shop and see if they will be able to take care of it without having to paint. if not then you're gonna have a couple hundred dollar bill.
