I been searching some Info for that problem because my G6's brake lights and rear blinkers haven't work at all so what I found is that the BCM(body control module) has corrosion on the connectors specially on the C2, if you don't know where the module is at, is placed on the right side of the front panel below the air bag and on the side on the stereo. There you will have to clean the C2 connector pins with a nylon brush and some cleaning gel or DIELECTRIC grease as the GM 12377900. Is about $15. And you can also unlatch the C2 connector the disconnect, then latch it again and connect. Repeat this steps about 3 or 4 times so you can clean the corrosion away. Hope this info will help you.

I have had the same problem as the original poster with the rear brake lights and turn signals on my 2005 Pontiac G6 not working. I was also ticketed for this.

I changed the bulbs out and they still don't work. Odd. So now I'm thinking it's a blown fuse?

I've never changed a fuse on a car before, but I noticed the fuse box next to the battery. When I opened it I saw a chart showing which fuse does what, but it did not mention rear brake lights. Should I just change all of the fuses that include the word "light" in the description?

Any info/help is much appreciated.

Whoever said Pontiac should include a help/users manual is dead on.

There's another fuse box on the passenger side of the main console. Kind of on the left side underneath the glove box. Just pop the cover off and there's a diagram for that one too. Idk if it has the fuse you're looking for or not, but it could help.

lol. your only at the beginning.. there are 2 more fuse boxes.. one under the center console and one in the trunk. I don't know which one is the brake lights. there's about 100 fuses.. good luck.. I guess GM knew with all crap in there something was going to short out...

Not sure if OP has solved the issue of rear blinkers and taillights not working, but has anyone considered the turn signal switch? I know in my Vette I had an issue where the rear right taillights wouldn't brighten either when braking or signaling but would illuminate when the headlights or running lights were on. As it turns out, the wires to the brake lights and the turn signals all ran through the same switch, so when the switch failed, those lights wouldn't light up for braking or signaling. Not sure if GM did the same here, there's about a 13-year difference between the two, but figured it worth mentioning. Replace your bulbs, then check to make sure you're getting power to those lights when braking or blinking while you're back there(check at the socket and the connector, would hate for you to go through all that trouble just to find that it's a bad socket). If you aren't, check your fuses; if you are at both socket and connector, clean off the contacts in the socket; if you are at the connector but not the socket, then you've probably found what needs replacing. If the fuse(s) are good, check that the relay(s) are functioning and that they are receiving power. Don't know how much more I can accurately say on the topic, the last car I did this on was made in 94 so the wiring was a bit simpler. Hope you figure out what's causing it!
