Dont have the 2.4, so cant say for certain. From the manual it looks like there are two, one for the intake and one for the exhaust.

And yes, the crankshaft position sensor looks to be above the starter

Maybe someone that actually owns a 2.4 can give you a better answer.

Boomer I read through those docs and I do see a re-learn procedure is required for the CPK sensor, I read the instructions and it seems clear, but others are saying I have to go to dealer for relearn? Can I do this with a regular OBD2 reader or do you need one of those full computers?

Normally you need an advanced, bi-directional scan tool to perform functions like the relearn procedure. Something like a Tech II or similar. Most of the basic OBD II tools only read data and cannot send commands. At least that is true of the ones I have seen. There is a thread with a GM specific scan tool that looked to cover all the modules and didn't seem too expensive (relatively speaking).

See this thread if you want to consider investing in one for the Vident / Ebay unit.

I wonder what a mechanic or dealer would charge to do the re-learn. I assume I cannot drive it after doing the sensor before a relearn right? I will have to tow it to mechanic or dealer after replacing sensor? Ill see if any of my neighbors possibly have this tool as well, can't hurt to ask!

Replaced the sensors this weekend, getting to that top bolt on the starter was a pain! Also knocked out the valve cover gasket. Gong to drive around a bit today and see if the CEL lights come back on, if that is the case I am leaning towards the timing chain being stretched.
