bypassed the top speed shutdown

I cut one of the two wires that goes to the speed sensor, and put a switch inside the car that I can flip if I want to go faster than the shutoff speed.
It isnt something you can use all the time because it shuts off the speedometer and odometer, but if you just want to use it for a minute it works fine. Everything goes back to normal when you flip the switch back.
The speed sensor on an automatic is strait under the alternator way down on the trans. Right in front of the steering rack
It has two wires going to it.
I cut the purple one.

If it shuts off the speedo how do you know you exceeded the governor limits?
boom!!

I think 99% of the people on here can figure this out, but I guess I will answer it for you since you seem to be a special case.

If you run the car up to the limiter and it shuts down, then you flip the switch and the car starts gaining speed again, you know you are going faster.
You can also watch the tach right when it shuts down, and note the rpm, then watch it rev much higher when the switch is flipped.
or.......you get a tune that does that job without snipping stuff:p

buddy chill out I'm not here to start any back and forth bantering on this site. I was just wondering how you would figure out your actual calculated speed without 'guess-estimating.' I thought maybe you were using a GPS or something. :)
i get such a kick out of people wanting to go racing in the g6. it is a nice 4 door sedan. was not made to exceed 120 mph. people wanting to put superchargers and get these cars tuned. are you kidding me. if you wanted a fast car and something to race. you shouldn't of bought a g6. it is made to be a great everyday driver. i've been over 150 mph many times in my corvette. and i can't even imagine going that fast in the g6. tires aren't ratted for high speed. the brakes definitely wouldn't with stand a sudden stop from that speed. it doesn't handle like a sports car because it isn't a sports car. it is nice modding our cars to add a little spunk under the hood. but a performance car or sports car you are wasting your time and money. if you want to go fast might want to buy something else. :bash:
as far as disconnecting the speed limiter it is a safety feature. why would you want to go over 100mph in a g6???? you plan on robbing a bank?? if you are i sure wouldn't use a g6 as a get a-way car. would have trouble out running the mailman!!!

Ok, but you didnt say my "actual calculated speed".
You asked how I knew I was going faster than the regulated speed without the speedo.
But yes, I did use my gps to find out the top speed.
It is quite a bit higher than the limiter
Here is the picture.

Great, you have a corvette. I have a viper GTS as well as quite a few other cars.
I have alot more fun doing things to cars that people dont expect to be modified.
Purging the nitrous at a stoplight in a G6 gets alot of attention, and I'm having all kinds of fun with this little car that I paid 5 grand for.
yeah purging the nitrous at a stop light. in a g6. i would look over at you and laugh and think what an buthole!!! any pictures you can give us of nitrous on your g6????? how about a picture of you and your viper????

There are pictures of the G6 in another thread I started right below this one titled "nitrous"

I dont have any pictures where I am in the picture with the viper.
I dont understand why people dont believe that someone can own a viper, used ones arent that expensive anymore.
I only paid 27k for mine.
I don't know about you, but if i had a viper, you'd have a picture of me humping the exhaust pipe :)

You see this is were you are very wrong g6 is a sports car in 2007 gm made a g6 that out ran cops and mustangs and they had to recall them they only got 12% of what they manufactured back. I have a 2007 pontiac g6 3.5L hemi engine I go from 0-80 in less then 10 seconds i have out ran sports cars on the freeway my speedometer goes up to 210mph. And the way I removed the speed limiter or governor on my g6 was by connecting a programmer to my obd2 and reprogramming it to top out at 210mph. Plus on top of that my g6 only has 43,005.65 miles on it rn. And as for cutting the wire and putting the switch in use isn't that smart. Especially since everytime you turn the speedometer off you cause damage to the cars cause unit when you turn the switch and the speedometer kicks back on were as reprogramming the cpu doesn't cause it to short circuit or overload. As for the tires they do make tires that can go one your g6 rims that can hold traction going 240mph. Brakes and rotors easy slotted rotors and racing calipers not that expensive.

no offense but you dont need an overpriced corvette to do 150. 2002 dodge stratus with slap shift. 172mph. 07 suzuki forenza 153mph. just cause they dont have that corvette logo doesnt mean they cant do the same thing that corvette can. overrated and over priced

Correction there are models of the g6 such as the gxp that can outrun a charger rt daytona, maybe touch up on some specs before you try sounding like you know something🤷

He just has enough money he doesn't know what to do with but unfortunately due to his small penis he has to come on these sites just to bash people who want to customize their cars to their liking🤷
