I cut one of the two wires that goes to the speed sensor, and put a switch inside the car that I can flip if I want to go faster than the shutoff speed.
It isnt something you can use all the time because it shuts off the speedometer and odometer, but if you just want to use it for a minute it works fine. Everything goes back to normal when you flip the switch back.
The speed sensor on an automatic is strait under the alternator way down on the trans. Right in front of the steering rack
It has two wires going to it.
I cut the purple one.

If it shuts off the speedo how do you know you exceeded the governor limits?
I think 99% of the people on here can figure this out, but I guess I will answer it for you since you seem to be a special case.

If you run the car up to the limiter and it shuts down, then you flip the switch and the car starts gaining speed again, you know you are going faster.
You can also watch the tach right when it shuts down, and note the rpm, then watch it rev much higher when the switch is flipped.

buddy chill out I'm not here to start any back and forth bantering on this site. I was just wondering how you would figure out your actual calculated speed without 'guess-estimating.' I thought maybe you were using a GPS or something. :)
Ok, but you didnt say my "actual calculated speed".
You asked how I knew I was going faster than the regulated speed without the speedo.
But yes, I did use my gps to find out the top speed.
It is quite a bit higher than the limiter
Here is the picture.

i get such a kick out of people wanting to go racing in the g6. it is a nice 4 door sedan. was not made to exceed 120 mph. people wanting to put superchargers and get these cars tuned. are you kidding me. if you wanted a fast car and something to race. you shouldn't of bought a g6. it is made to be a great everyday driver. i've been over 150 mph many times in my corvette. and i can't even imagine going that fast in the g6. tires aren't ratted for high speed. the brakes definitely wouldn't with stand a sudden stop from that speed. it doesn't handle like a sports car because it isn't a sports car. it is nice modding our cars to add a little spunk under the hood. but a performance car or sports car you are wasting your time and money. if you want to go fast might want to buy something else. :bash:
Great, you have a corvette. I have a viper GTS as well as quite a few other cars.
I have alot more fun doing things to cars that people dont expect to be modified.
Purging the nitrous at a stoplight in a G6 gets alot of attention, and I'm having all kinds of fun with this little car that I paid 5 grand for.

There are pictures of the G6 in another thread I started right below this one titled "nitrous"

I dont have any pictures where I am in the picture with the viper.
I dont understand why people dont believe that someone can own a viper, used ones arent that expensive anymore.
I only paid 27k for mine.
