I know this seems like a dumb question, but My tail light went out on my '06 GTP and I can't figure out how to get to the tail light. I see this black panel on the lip of the trunk and there is a little rubber piece that when I pulled back I could see the plug for the light, but I have no idea how to get that panel off without damaging it. Can anyone help?

Just did this

Me and my wife own G6s, I just did this on my 06 after she paid to have it done on her 05. In the trunk if you have cargo nets, you'll need to remove the two cargo net holders, than pull the trunk lining back. After that, Hambone is correct, 3 nuts, though both mine were missing a nut on each side. Then there is the annoying little 10mm wrench or socker you'll need. Took me 10 minutes for both together.

Tail Light Plug!!

Duplicate...but not sure it's in the right thread...

Had to replace the passenger tail light directional signal bulb in my wife's 2006 G6 GTP Convertible. While pulling the tail light assembly from the body, the harness connector came out. Spent nearly 30 minutes trying to find where the connector plugs into. Well, it looks like the plug is between the rear body panel and the bumper (cover)...not accessible from inside the trunk....what a crappy design. I've never seen a tail light assembly that you couldn't get to the wiring from inside the trunk.

So, I can't get my hand far enough into the light assembly opening to plug back in. Can't reach up from underneath or the passenger wheel well. Please tell me I don't have to take the bumper (cover) off of the vehicle just to plug the tail light back in!!

Any suggestions is appreciated.
