I am having a problem with my security system on my 07 G6. It is arming itself when the car is unlocked. When i shut off the car and open the door it chimes at me three times and the security light flashes, then when i close the door the security arms after 30 seconds or so. i have read on some other forums on that you can switch the security modes from passive to RKE. I was wondering how to do that.

Be sure you aren't pressing the lock button while the door is open. If you are the car will arm the alarm.

Keep pressing the menu button until you see the security selection. Change it to RKE from passive.

I didn't find a security selection in my menu. Another problem that we discovered yesterday is that door lock buttons on both driver and passenger doors don't work. We got the trim panel off the driver door and nothing was wrong and my brother checked the fuses and they were okay. We are thinking that the door locks has something to do with the alarm going off when it is unlocked, but we can't figure out what is wrong with it. Any suggestions?

maybe your button is stuck in the lock position? When you open your door your door switch triggers your locks to engage again? Try unhooking the switch one by one and see if it dings.

the 09's have a delay feature that you have to wait 10-20 seconds after you close the door for the locks to lock.....

sounds like your trying to change the delay lock...here is a quote out of the owners manual:

DELAY LOCK: The delayed locking option, which
delays the actual locking of the vehicle, can be
enabled or disabled. When DELAY LOCK appears
on the display, press the enter button to move
between OFF and ON. When you have made your
choice, press the MENU button to record your
selection. The initial setting from the factory is ON
