For waxing the car plus cleaning the interior can you use regular cloth or use towel?

use terry cloth towels (all cotton) they won't scratch the paint at all and buff out wax very well. I know a lot of people are useing microfiber towels for waxing, but I'm not sure how well they work...never used one.

You can buy a bag of terry cloth towels from autozone and murray's for pretty cheap.

Microfiber is kick azz at cleaning the mirrors and inside windows, without using windex!!!
Microfiber is excellent for taking off the wax-not applying it. It's also good for interior touch ups, like wiping dust off the dash and other interior pieces. Terry cloth towels are the best to use to actually clean dirt spots and stains on interior, then use the microfiber rag to dust off the white dust particles the terry cloth towel leaves behind. Good luck!
yea I pretty much gave up using terry towels on anything but parts that get real dirty, like the wheels and exhaust tips. They leave too many white particles all over the place. I find that 100% white cotton t-shirts work very well while cleaning and waxing.

used microfiber for the first time when detailing yesterday and now i will never use anything else it is a pleasure to work with. Also used meguires NXT and the paint is extreamly slick. The car looks great
What kind of microfiber towels do you use? (brand)

I bought one for drying the car and it sucks. If snags so easy and doesn't soak up the water very well. Being that I've never used one for waxing (and planning on waxing it this weekend) what brand/type do you guys use? thanks
DO NOT use microfiber rag to dry the car....use the Absorber. Use the microfiber cloth mainly to take off wax once it's applied or for dusting the interior.
i agree with bpcbrad, use the microfiber for polishing only and the windows, The absorber is the best for drying
OK, thanks guys, I'll check that out. :)
Microfiber, eh....!?!?

Well, speaking of microfiber & its uses - what brands do y'all recommend or buy in your neck of the woods? This deserves some investigating... ;)
I use Meguiar's, picked up a pack of 20 for about $30 when they had the hurricane relief sale on ebay.
I really like to clean the outside of the car with a steam cleaner because the steam is great at removing traces of minerals, tar, grease, dirt and is safe for the surface and health. I also clean the interior using steam cleaner with extraction according to the recommendations Steam extractor vs. Steam cleaner | Which is better? where professionals compare simple steam cleaners with those that vacuum cleaner - show their pros and cons and give advice on selection and use.
