Hello,

On my 06 when I'm driving at low speeds like 10mph or lower and I crank the wheel all the way left or right and back again, like when I would back out of the driveway or parking in a parking lot, there's a fairly loud clunk coming from the steering column.

It clunks when I turn the wheel and then again when the wheels straighten themselves out.

Any thoughts on what it might be? Tie rod maybe?

Thanks!

O

Most likely it's the intermediate shaft. It's a very common problem on some GM front drive cars. Do a search first it's already been discussed repeatedly on all G6 forums.

I had same noise on my 06 ...brought it in & they diagnosed it as a bad steering column right away (must have had many previous ones) & replaced it without question...
