On my 2009 G6 the cruise control stopped working, the button lights up but the cruise will not engage and I checked the brake lights and they are working. I tried unplugging and re-plugging the connector on the right side of console a couple of times but that did not help, (it has been pictured on the internet under the removable cover the lower left one ). I see some say to use dielectric grease on this plug, will bulb grease work? What is the difference?
the brake pedal position (bpp) sensor wires connect to the BCM at the C2/J2 connector (the one at the top running horizontally). that's the one to pull & reinsert several times & apply the dielectric silicone grease to.
bulb grease is just dielectric silicone grease by another name.
Thanks!! That took care of it and its working like it should. Has anyone had the dealer price fixing the cruise control? I just replaced the multi function switch for a cost of 24 dollars and 15 minutes of time and the dealer wanted 500-700 dollars to do it. My faith in the dealer has really went down. Thanks alot
I have my manual, i got a '06 2.4l 4cyl so idk if it covers multiple years/models but ill take a look
