Please check the ground to the car. Passenger side the middle cover comes off to expose the fuses. Check and make sure all the grounds are touching the bare metal of the car. This happened to me. Hope you find the ground problem.
Dashboard and radio cut off and on while driving
I just bought a used 2009 pontiac G6 there are no light on. When I am driving the cluster completely goes out the speed goes to 0 all the lights flash the radio flashes but the car drives fine while it does this what could be the problem. I have gotten it hooked up and it's not reading any problems. What can be causing the cluster and radio to cut off and on the whole time I am driving

Did checking the grounds solve your problem? I have a similar issue but the backlight just pulsates without actually going out as you described.
