De-Badging

Hey i get my G from the dealership tuesday as they had some last minute cleaning to do before they turned it over, and it gives me time to get insurance. Anyways, to remove all the badges that say GM and G6 and pontiac, is it as simple as putting a heat gun to them briefly to warm the adhesive up then pull them off ? thanks alot

debadging

I have heard heating it up and then using floss behind the badge will take it off. Any residue will come off with WD40. After you are done, make sure you get the excess WD40 off and put a new layer of wax on that section of the car.

Wind Deflector ?

Has anyone put on one of the GM accessory "Wind Deflectors" ? I cannot tell from the photo online ( and the dealer does not have a sample on site ) if the piece covers the back seats or is simply -straight- down along the rear of the front seats. Am thinking if the rear seat area is covered, that area could become a "temporary" trunk space when the top is down....

Thanks

You can use a heat gun or you can use a hair dryer. I did my car in 35 degree weather with just a hairdryer. Left it on the letter for 5 minutes and then took fishing line behind the letter and "sawed" through the foam adhesive. This is very hard to do if it's not warmed up. Once the letters are off then heat up the adhesive that's left behind. Once warmed up just use goo gone (or other adhesive remover) with a towel/rag and it should come off fairly easy. I removed the Pontiac and G6 symbols a couple days ago. I'm going to leave on the GT for now unless I decide to take it off also. later down the road. I think I like it on there though. I do still want to take off the GM emblems on both of the front doors. But anyway this method works great. Good luck!
