Delay Acceleration/Shift Transmission

I have a 2008 G6 GT. Over the last month when accelerating from a complete stop the car will hesitate and then kind of jump like it finally found the gear. It does not do it all the time. But it seems to do it the most when I have been drive for a long time. I took it to the dealer and they said they could do nothing until the service light came on. I just purchased my car in Jan 2010 with 27k miles on it. It now has 47k. I am afraid to pull out into traffic because I am afraid one of these times it just won't go. Any ideas ??[

How often does it happen? If it causes concern of your safety, then demand the dealer find a solution. See if they can experience the problem.
It happens about 3 or 4 time per week. The problem is it could happen once while I am driving and not happen again for a few days. So every time I start heading to the dealer it stops. I have talked to 2 dealers. Even the one I purchased it at in Jan 2010. I told him my concern about pulling into traffic. And I always get told until the service light comes on. They don't know what to fix. They were not concerned.
thats bullsh*t that they cant do anything till a service light comes on. Tell them to find the problem and fix it. You didnt bring the car there just so you could chit chat with them
Car still doing it. But not service light !!!

Well still have the problem. But as of lately. After pushing the gas pedal to go it hesitates then the transmission will kick in and the tires will peel off. And then the car shows low traction. Taking it in tomorrow and making them keep it till it is fixed !! Light or no light on. I have now had the car for 1 1/2 years. With 64k miles on a 2008.

Write an email to the general manager (go straight to the top!) of the dealership expressing your disbelief that they, the dealership (use names if you have them), would turn you away and potentially put you and your family in harm’s way. Carbon copy a lawyer but, be sure to put your name, address and phone number on the letter. You SHOULD get a reply soon.

(One word big business is afraid of is "Liability")

This won't get you free fixes but it should get you service.
