Typically no one replaces these filters until the fuel pump goes because it is in the tank and you would have to drop it, pull the pump, replace the filter, and put everything back. There is really no scheduled maintenance recommending to replace it, but if you wanted to it can be done.
The filter is also inside the tank?! I thought it was annoying not having a trans dip stick, having the DIC in the radio, and now I have a fuel filter in the tank....I'm starting to regret buying this car.
