I just got the metra kit and stereo from crutchfield. When you buy a stereo, they cut the cost of the metra kit 50%. Got everything installed yesterday morning. Much better sound than the stock stereo.
Driver's Information Center Question for aftermarket stereo
I want to put in a Double DIN stereo in my G6, and was wondering if there is a way to retain the Driver's Information Center for it. I know there are ones for single DIN. Any ideas?

Yes, crutchfield had a decent price for the type of stereo I wanted and I also got the Metra kit for $125. Win-Win.
Also, pulling the dash apart was pretty easy. Especially with the instructions crutchfield sent (although the how-to is readily available here, too). The hardest part of the disassembly and reassembly was getting a couple of the screws started.
