Hey guys I am looking to paint the engine and battery cover(the black plastic parts) What type of paint should I use? High heat paint like engine enamel? link or would any old paint do? thanks also to remove the engine cover you just remove the oil cap and then give it a tug and it should pop off right? I dont want to accidentally break it

Anything that gets anywhere near the engine itself definitely needs to be engine enamel or else the paint will burn off. VHT makes a paint in spray or can form that works great and can be found at any decent auto parts store. If it was me I would use VHT on anything I painted under hood.

I painted my engine covers - used this 8 or 10 dollar can from autozone of red and this high temp clear coat - looks just as good 6 months later as the day I did it. I will see if I can get the specific brand name
