When I bought my '08 GXP I noticed that my factory 3rd brake light was out, and rather than try to replace or repair it I'm thinking of putting an aftermarket one in, in a different location.

I was thinking of either on the front edge of the trunk lid or just over the rear lip (a la hard top convertible coupe). It's just that I haven't found any LED strip units that don't say "Not recommended for exterior application." I may try it anyway, but I could also put it on the inside of the rear window, top or bottom - it would still look cool either way.

But, if you know of any lights that are made for exterior use, I'd greatly appreciate a URL.

Thanks!!

I had been thinking about putting a long red led strip inside the top of the rear window. I've seen it before but can't remember on which make/model. But check out superbrightleds. They have a lot of different led strips, some of which are water or weather proof.

Thanks - now I'm slapping myself because I've bought from them before!

I'll see what they have.
