F40 Transmission

I'm not a G6 guy, but happen to be an avid fan of fieros :). Currently were limited to swapping in the Acura NSX trans as the only way to get high strength manual transmissions. Right now I'm building a twin turbo 3800 and plan on around 500+RWHP. My question to you, do you have any information or testimonial regarding the F40 trans? I heard it wasn't that strong of a tranmission, comperable to the stock Getrag 282 5 speed that comes in our cars. My other option that I'm looking into is the Getrag 287. Any help or leads would be much appreciated. Thanks!

No ones pushing enough power into them to come close to breaking them, in the G6 World anyways. I dont think its as weak as people think, but theres no way to know until someone starts putting some good numbers down.
I am in the midst of deciding on swaping to the same transmission. I can't seem to hold a fully-built 4T65E-HD transmssion together for longer then a few months, so i am thinking about swaping over. The only problem is that, as you stated, nobody has pushed these transmission yet, and my last setup which was very mild, still make 460whp and 430tq on pump gas on my day-to-day boost level. Now i have a much more radical setup where i should hit 600+hp and tq without much problem, and i highly doubt that a STOCK T40 will hold.

I am currently talking to a guy by the name of Mike from Milzy Motorsports, and i might be looking into tearing a F40 apart and start having billet pieces made, as well as a twin-disc and hardened axles made......We'll see how our discussions go from here on out, but it looks like this might be a cheaper alternative in the long run for me.

P.S. The car hits the dyno tomorrow, so hopefully the current built trans is going to hold up!
