Reviving this ancient thread. I already bought a 09 had control. Now I want to upgrade to 09 radio with aux to complement the look and add aux input. My car is a 07 GT Coupe with Monsoon but no aux.
Factory 2009-2010 GM radio & heater controls, can I upgraded it in my 2008!?
I've got a 2008 G6 base, fully loaded. It has 3.5 V6, remote start & Onstar. I really don't like the factory GM radio & heater controls. Can I install the 2009/2010 G6 XSM radio & heater controls in my car? Would I have to get the 2010 gauge cluster also? I don't wanna loose my info. center. Any help would be appreciated.

I mean the newer style radio. I just say some pics and the rear two connectors look different. Might be a matter of rewiring new plugs? Anyone?
i know that if you change to another factory radio it won't work unless the dealer programs it for your car.anti theft stuff.
Thanks Zenish! I could deal with the dealer thing if that's all it took. I would like to know if it is compatible so I can give the dash a more refined look while gaining aux input in the process.
I thought I read a post where someone did swap in the newer stereo, but I can't seem to locate it now so I can't be sure if it actually worked for them
as enforcer pointed out you will need the 2010 dash too.
