So, I was doing a detail clean of my engine bay and I unscrewed the power cable to my amp to clean around the area and the wire fell on the computer and sparks flew :( The car will no longer start and the odometer reads error. Any trouble shooting ideas I can do or is all hope lost? Any idea how much a new one would cost and if a dealer or anyone who would have it in stock?! Thanks!

usually when the odometer reads error, and the car wont start, the ecu is bad or has no connection. It sounds like you fried it. But to be sure go around and check your fuses. Maybe if your lucky you just blew a fuse somewhere.

A new PCM can get pricey, BUT Now could be a good time to buy a WAMS tuned PCM/TCM. you can get a replacement for your fried one AND gain performance!

Well, I bought a replacment PCM for $53 and had it programmed for $90. I wish I could have gotten a WAMS, but I needed my car back asap :( Been planning on Wams for a while too...Oh well, I have my strut bar and CAI coming in right now so WAMS can wait for a bit :) So, for $140 I made a pricey little mistake, but it could have cost me much more! Topic can be closed!

Wow that's a damn good price for a replacement PCM. At least I think so, I thought they were a lot more expensive than that.
