I noticed that when i drive over minor bumps or dips in the road that there's a squeak from the front end driver side suspension, it sounds terrible. any idea exactly what it is, what do to and/or how much it costs to fix ?
Thanks!

could be a strut, maybe a bushing squeaking? the only way to tell is to get under there and find it.
Left front noise

I have a 2007 G6 GT.
With the noise you described. Cause is the Lower left ball joint and
control arm. Cost $400.00-$500.00.
thank you for your help! i'll be trying to figure it out this week so i'll keep you posted
My suspension squeak was caused by the front struts being shot(35k) and the two Strut Link supports being worn(rubber was rotted and torn). Next day shipping from rock auto on the struts and autozone for the strut links and car handles like a dream and no more squeak!

Sucks I had to blow money on the ride because im in the red more so than i was before :|. I was able to hand compress the struts with no resistance. Makes me think the rears may be due as well.
Hello all, recently I replaced my front struts from leaking on my 06 G6. PRETTY EXPENSIVE fix if you ask me even though I saved money on labor buying the parts myself and having my mechanic install them for me. I occasionally have a front end squeak ( whine ) noise coming from both the right and left it switches every know and then and goes away and comes back. It can be very anoying, but only happens at slow speeds over small dips and bumps in the road! It does not happen at fast speeds? I really don't want or have the money to keep shelling into this car to replace anything if it really will not harm the car which I know it shouldn't. I at first thought it was the bump stop rubbing on the strut but I was wrong.

**Hello Saberz question for ya, the strut link supports do they attach or associate to the strut mounts? Do the links come with the strut mounts?
Yes they are attached to or close to the struts. Its a z like part, two rubber boots. Attached behind the struts.
yet another problem it appears i'll have to attend to on my G6...i've been noticing the same thing
another common problem with gm cars is the sway bar bushing rubs creating the squeak, i have this problem with my g6. Not a problem, just a little annoying, so make sure you know what it is before you go dumping cash into struts

Mike
I hear a squeak when I drive slowly over speed bumps it sounds like a spring squeak or something. I was thinking of spraying the spring pocket to see if it would go away. I only hear it when I have the windows down so it's not that bad. I hope it's not an expensive fix.
I am at 86K so I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
try lubing your rear brake cable at the metal holder.

Good advice Mike thanks! I had all my bushings and links checked out on my front end and they are all fine ( safety checked also ) also what I've been told the sway bar bushings are self lubed so you don't have to worry that they will dry out or crack. The mechanic said in the cold the ( wine ) sound can happen, but I notice as the car is warmed up and driven thats when the noise can occur, well on my G6 thats what happens could be very different for others. My front struts are new and so are the strut mounts. The noise happens on and off and switches from left to right or both can be anoying only happens at slow speeds also I might add, but I have given up on what it could be! I have had the car for just about a year and have been dumping $$ into her stupid stuff, costly fixes were the struts and the Intermedient Steering Shaft. Also if your car tends to hang or lag when starting here's a great word of advice clean your throttlebody it will solve that issue.. Have a good one

I had to have my fronts struts and sway bar links repaired also for a leak. Ran me $600 with labor. I'm at 49,000 miles.
