I have a 2009 Pontiac G6 Base Pre-Facelift. The switch for the fan speed is broken so I have to get a new module. However, I was looking on ebay and found both the exact replacement and the module for the face lifted model. It look like they are the same size and have the same connections. Would this work in my car?

I just nabbed one from the junkyard for pretty cheap, then I noticed an eBay user selling New ones for around $40 shipped, so I decided to just get a nice brand new one. Dunno why I even grabbed the junkyard one now.

The 2005-2009 base model unit defaults to venting outside air each time it is turned off and on. Does the facelift 2009-2010 unit do the same thing? Or will it stay on recirculation mode when you turn the car off and on? Or if you turn the fan speed off and on?

Per the 2009 owner's manual, the system defaults back to outside air when the vehicle is turned off.

I just swapped my 2005 G6 unit with a brand new 2009.5-2010 climate control. Drop in swap. Sure looks better and has a much better feel to use the large ring knobs and sleek buttons. Sadly, yes, it still defaults to vent instead of remembering the last option used such as recirculation.
