Hello. Is the spoiler/brake light on the convertibles the same as the coupes? I might need to replace the one on my wife's '09 convertible if the original one cannot be fixed as some of the led's are not illuminating.

I got a quote from dealer where I bought my 07 convt and it was crazy expensive, into 4 figures. I asked how in the heck could fixing a light cost so much? Because entire assy has to be replaced and new one painted to match. Umm no thanks. Looked on ebay for used replacement but that didn't pan out either. My simple solution was to unplug it. Don't miss it.

No, the convertible light isn't the same as the coupe. There are used ones on eBay for varying prices. If you buy one with all the segments working, you can remove the circuit board and put it in your housing so you don't have to paint it.
