I have a 05' G6 GT and it wont starting. I checked the starter, the battery, the fuses, and alternator. Everything is ok. Still wont start, just clicks. The starter is only getting 9 amps from the battery. What would cause this?
the part that reads your key might be defective iv seen that before or a bad wire from battery to starter check volts at battery if it is at between 11 and 12 valts then your battery is good if it is less at the starter then battery the wire is bad
The battery voltage is good at 12. A friend told be that GM use to have a 2nd relay on the small wire connected to the starter. When I try to start it the voltage on the starter is only at 9. Has anyone heard, or know if this could be, and if so where it would be located? If the wire from the battery to the starter is that something I can repair myself by buying a new wiring kit?
My car did this I took the battery had it tested they said it tested fine 2 days after charging the battery the same thing happen it wouldn't start. I had to get it jumped. I finally got tired of it took it to the dealer and there was a dead cell in the battery.
yes a dead cell will do that. good one day bad the next. You will get 12v out of any car battery dead or good. If you sending 9 amps to the starter, you should be getting like 600-700 amps.
