I recently purchased an '09 G6 V6 sedan (base) that has the Chrome Tech cladded wheels. Two wheels have bent rims and I am looking at aftermarket wheels. My tires are 225/50/R17, but measuring the diamater of the wheels shows exactly 18 inches (see photos).

I would like to keep the same tires and I know new 17 inch wheels will fit my tires, but did they somehow stretch these tires on 18 inch rims or am I doing it wrong?

The diameter of the rim is measured from the lowest point on the ring of the wheel, not the outer lip. If you have R17's on your rims, you have 17 inch rims.

Chrome Techs are 17" Get 17" rubbe or wheels to match ur current rubber. Ignore your ruler.

I bought aftermarket 17's cause I had just bought new rubber as well....way back when.
