I have a 2008 GT sedan with the GT Street Edition package which adds the GXP mesh grille and front fascia among other things. The upper grilles appear to be painted a silver color from the factory (I am original owner). The paint is peeling leaving a darker black/grey finish underneath which is quite noticeable. Has anyone else here had this happen?

No one else? Anyway, both grilles are being replaced under warranty. With "new and improved", I hope!

I added that front end to mine and purchased the grilles from GM. They did not come painted. All my grilles are plain steel, no paint. But that would explain why mine don't shine like the others. LOL

I really need to get off my keester and get some pics posted. My grilles had a slight silver grey color coating. Yes, they are metaL OF SOME SORT. Plain steel would rust like crazy there in the "rust belt"! I would think even stainless would tarnish over time back there. Anyway part numbers were 25831826 and 27. Looks great now!

your G6 looks great with those adds by the way! A lot less than the sticker price for the Street Edition of $1,590.00!
