Get that 60 foot lower, and you could be under 15 secs. What tires do you have?

To Answer All Your Questions Here We Go.

My Car Is Stock
My Traction Control Was Off
Launch Was 2000 Rpm
My Tires Are Googyear Eagle Ls2's 225/50/18
Lots Of Traction Issues Could Not Get It To Hook Up.
Shifting Was 1st To [email protected] 5200 Rpm, 2nd To 3rd @ 6200 Rpm Held 3rd To The Traps @ About 5500 Rpm.
4th Gear Slowed The Car Down By 4 Tenths And About 5 Mph. In My First Run.first Run Was 15.48 @ 84.5 Mph.

So Any Of You Thinking Of Going Down The 1/4 Mile Don't Shift Into 4th!!!!!

I'm interested to know the strategy in your 1-2 shift. why not hold to 6000-6200rpm? Wouldn't that keep you in your power band better? Or is that in relation to the traction issues you're talking about?

1st Gear Is Way Too Steep And You Need The Torque Not The Full Top End.
I Tried It In My First Run And You Can Feel That In First Gear At That Rpm It Does Not Pull Hard.second And Third Is Where It's At.if You Got A 6 Speed Drive It Hard At That Rpm In First Gear And You'll See What I Mean.

well he has a 2005. The one I looked up was on car-stats.com, it was a 2002 type S. The 1/4 mile was 14.8s. So his is probably faster.

Mike
Doubt it it should be a good race. G6GTPV6HO times are with a 2.4 60 foot, with some more traction a 14.7 14.6 is in sight.

No kidding you have traction issues, the Eagle LS-2 SUCK!

mid 14s with that MPH... and always hold your last gear thru the traps if you can. The closer to redline the better. :)

Not always the case, if you really want to get the most out of your car, go find GM's original dyno sheet for the motor. Youll find where the powerband is and you want to shit pretty closely "within reason" to that

Always shifting at redline is a myth

Not making power at redline is better than dropping rpm and losing momentum...unless you start to loose power somehow after your peak... The gearing is these cars isn't track friendly...

Next 1/4 Mile Pass

Hey Guy's
The Next Time I Go To The Track We'll See What Happens.
I Went To E-town On A Friday Night And It Was Packed I Only Got 2 Runs. I Need To Get More In Tune With How My Car Will Respond To Different Ways Of Racing It. I Had The Benifit Of Real Cold Air But At The Cost Of A Track Surface That Was Cold. When I Raced It Was 32* Out. Now I Got My Hood On And The Airbox Is Taking Air In Directly From It, Maybe It Will Be Better, However I Still Waiting For K&n To Make A Filter For Our Cars. I'm Sure That Will Help Too. I'll Be Happy With A Mid 14's @ 96 Or 97. The Next Time I Do Go To The Track I'm Gonna Take Everything I Can Out To See What Happens With The Weight Loss. The Ram Air Hood Is Much Lighter Than The Steel Hood So I'm Already Ahead Of The Game. We'll See. John
