Hi all,

I recently replaced a leaking cylinder with a used ebay one (i like taking chances) but for some reason the top will not move at all now. It used to work perfectly except for the cylinder leaking but now that i have replaced the cylinder and filled the reservoir it will not work and i am confused. When i press the button i do not get any error messages and the windows go down. I can hear the pump working but the top does not unlock in the front nor does the trunk deck begin to open. At first i thought it was the pump having to push the fluid throughout the lines again but after repeatedly running the pump (probably 30 times now) it still has not done anything except overheat the pump. The fluid level is still about the same as when i filled it originally. I tried finding a bleeding procedure online but could not find one or anything in this group about it. Any advice would be appreciated.

I appreciate your quick response. Believe it or not I got home from work and figured what the hell, I'll try it one more time. And it worked! Now I've cycled it open and closed twice and it worked perfectly. I'm so happy. No idea how long it'll last before another one blows or something else goes bad but for now I'm happy. I'll post here if anything changes.

You're definitely right. However I can't help but wonder if it was a coincidence or if it really took that long to fill the system with fluid. What do you think? I was betting that there was some sort of electrical issue since it wouldn't even unlock the front or rear deck lid. But those are all hydraulic so maybe it really did take that many cycles to fill the system? I thought that if it were electrical related that it would give me "top not secure" message.

I do plan on sending the rams to top hydraulic at some point. It worked great a few times but now has trouble closing. Had to give it assistance to finish closing. I don't hear/see and signs of a leak. Hoping my pump isn't going bad. I'll post again after the next time i open/close it. Temps have been normal- mid 60's, 70's.
