I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 GT and I have a Magnaflow catback exhaust on it and I was wondering if there was anyone who makes headers for it or not?

There is a header made for the G6 but it wont be legal as it does away with your cats. OBX makes one that fits the LX9 3.5. You would need a tune for it as well. Im not sure if it will fit an 07 3.5 though....Isnt the 07 a LZ4?
If so then it wont fit.

How much torque effect would there be if someone opened up the exhaust with a catback?

:shrug: do a before and after dyno and tell us.... maybe 1or 2 I wouldn't expect anything crazy but the increas in Hp would be worth it

Hmm. I noticed a difference with my custom catback. My mpgs skyrocketed and now i can spin wheels!

Most 3.5's engines are LZ4's (2007-present Pontiac G6 )
But if you have 2005-2006 Pontiac G6 Sedan / Coupe or a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT vert you have a LX9
Thess headers will fit the LZE engine too.... They are the exact same engine as the LZ4's except for the fact the LZE is flex fuel capable and thus a Lil under tuned.
I might pick these up for my car I'm 100% the back header will fit, however the front header will bolt up too but the pipe connecting the two will be an issue....

idk if you know this or not but hp is a calculated number. when your torque goes up, your hp goes up(unless you dramatically change your powerband)...let's do some math...
(Torque x Engine speed) / 5,252 = Horsepower
let's say we have an engine with 100 foot pounds of torque and the highest point of the powerband is 6,000 RPMs
(100 ft/lbs x 6,000 rpm) / 5252 = 114.24 HP
now, lets add 2 foot pounds and see the difference.
(102 ft/lbs x 6,000 rpm) / 5252 = 116.52 HP
let's say we tune a different engine with higher RPMS, but with the same amount of torque
(100 ft/lbs x 10,000 rpm) / 5252 = 190.4
(102 ft/lbs x 10,000 rpm) / 5252 = 194.2
this is how F1 cars and go-carts have so much HP with tiny engines. the cylinders of an F1 car are the size of a pop can. your dad's old muscle car has pistons twice that size(if not more), but only has a fraction of the hp...
the hp went up quite a bit, but the torque stayed the same. the hp gain from 2 pounds of torque was as minimal as before...so if you only gain 2 pounds of torque from a catback, you'll be lucky to gain 4 or 5 hp. don't get me wrong, 5 hp is 5 hp. it's better than nothing and your cat-back will eventually pay itself off(via better MPG's)...so don't expect a huge gain from doing such a minor mod.

I see you're from Indiana. If Dayton, OH isn't too far for you, there is a guy there who runs a shop that is looking for a 3.5L to make some headers for. You'd have to leave your car with him for like 3 weeks or so, but if you are interested, PM me.

Does the 3.5 lx9 05/06 g6, & 3.5 lz4 07/08 g6 exhaust manifold have the same line up pattern off the block, i kno the obx headers for the lx9 bolt up flange is different from the lz4 is that really the only
Difference so i can fabricate to fit wit custom welding or is it much more to it, dont wanna get super expensive for just 10/25 hp headers

i think the headers only fit 2006 and older because its something with the bumper that on the newer ones it hits or something similar to that.

Correct they only fit the LX9. Which is pre 07(LZ4) 3.5 V6
All I've heard is the holes don't align but don't know how off everything else is.
