Ok, does anyone experience a high pitch shrieking type of noise when you’re using your tap shift at high RPM's. My dealer just told me that it's normal, but for some reason I do not believe that. They said that GM didn't make a belt that can keep up with me engine when shifting at like 5600 RPM. It gets really annoying. Is there anything I can do?

If it is the belt, make sure the belt tensioner is tight. Also look for ware and tear on the belt to make sure its not going bad. A bad pulley also could cause it, but I highly doubt thats your problem. Or if you want to say screw it and get rid of the noise asap.. while the engine is running take a bar of soap and gently rub it against the belt so that the belt eats into the soap bar. WATCH YOUR HANDS!

I just signed up on this forum and found 3 or 4 different posts that relate to issues I have had with my 06 g6...when I had the high pitched noise at higher speeds it ended up being the wheel bearings...had it replaced to the tune of $400 and noise stopped....only had 30-35K miles at the time...not sure if that is normal but from reading these post's I don't think anything is normal with these cars....
