Whenever I run through a puddle (a large one) and come to park, my car will appear to be smoking (as if it were overheated.) The engine is fine, the only thing I can figure is that the water is steaming off of the brakes or tires or something that is getting really hot.

Either way - I was curious if anybody else has ever encountered this? What could it be, is it bad, and what could or should be done?

I don't think your brakes or tires would or should get that hot that they would be smoking like that. The water probably hit the bottom of the car where the heat shield his and made some steam. Anyone on here feel free to correct me

yep G6-Lover is right ... just some water on either the exhaust (which is very hot)

Happens on multiple cars I've had. Doubt it's anything to be worried about and I doubt it is the tires or brakes.

first time mine did that I thought I had a antifreeze leak. lol
