My blower is only working on #4 setting. Was told its the resistor and its a fairly easy fix and inexpensive if I do it myself. Where is it located and does anyone have a step by step on how I can get at it? I'm fairly new at car repair but have dabbled a little.....am just hoping it doesn't involve a full dash pull out.

Not the blower motor though....the resistor

Your description and the pictures were great. But my problem is the resistor, not the blower motor. So where in there is the resistor? Do I have to go through alllll of that just to get to it?

I thought that it was in the general direction. I'm sure if you poke around over there it's somewhere in the how-to section.

The panel just pulls off. The cutting you are thinking of is when you have to replace the motor. No cutting involved for this repair.

For the resistor just pull off the plastic cover (clipped on, underneath glovey) and the resistor is back on the firewall. It has a 4 wire plug plugged into it. Just unplug that and take a 8mm I think socket, and take the two bolts out. Slap the new one in, then place the plastic cover back up underneath the glovey and you are good as new:D

$55 at canadian tire

I just changed mine too. It also only worked on the 4th setting. I was gonna look for a cheaper one online but the fact is it was fixed in less then 10 minutes so I really can't complain. It just erks me that I paid that much for a resistor, something so basic in electronics. I should've just solder my own 1ohm resistors lol.
