I am posting this in this section because it has the most to do with wiring...

Anyway...I got myself another speeding ticket today...and yes I have a radar/laser detector...and no, not speeding is not an option...
I "forgot to turn the damn thing on this morning...again
Which fuse to use to piggyback the detector on that turns on/off with key start.

Thanks

i would use like a fuse in the engine compartment then cause if your car is on the all those fuses are on. you will just have to run the cord threw the firewall which is easy.

I've purchase the invisicord for my radar detector in both my G6 and my truck. It slides right into the wiring into the back of your mirror and turns on and off with your vehicle. No soldering/splicing/etc...Works great.

I am trying to hardwire a radar detector for my girlfriends g6 and i located the instrument panel fuse block. I am confused in the manual where it says...."then remove the fuse block cover to access the fuses". I removed the console cover and I can see some fuses but just not the ones for the radio, etc...Which fuse block cover are they referring to and how do I remove that. Once I can remove that then I can go ahead and finish hardwiring it.

To the OP go to the store... get a cig lighter and attach it to the end of your detectors power adapter plus and tape/shrink tube it so there is no exposed wires...

Next remove you radio and tap into the wires powering your cig lighter, Than place that bundle (store bought cig lighter and adapter) in the dash and run the wire to were you want the the radar.

Make the appropriate wire length with a good splice and good wire, and your done.

If any of you are in the North IL area i would be MORE than glad to assist you PM me for more info
