Hydraulic cylinder leak -O ring or bad cylinder?

Hi all,

My top will not go up and after refilling the Pump reservoir; The pump seems to be working but I have a leak From the cylinder area up near where the bend in the trunk meets the backseat.
I was looking to replace the cylinder but the prices on them Are high.

I notice someone selling the O-rings where the hydraulic lines come into cylinder and wondered if perhaps it could just be a bad O-ring leaking from the hydraulic cylinder.

It looks like the O-rings are like $21 so a big difference between that and 150 to 399 that I’ve seen online for the cylinder.

Has anybody replaced an O-ring or have any insight about whether or not the cylinders bad how to tell if a cylinder is bad?

In my experience the main rams usually leak from the end. If the top is down, you can remove the plastic cover that is by the rear windows to front seatbelt and see the ram. If you get someone to operate the roof close switch you can take a look and see. Maybe you get lucky and it is just an O Ring.
hey i was wondering where you found the orings? i've been looking and can't find just the rings.
The only other information I had was in this thread (9) 08 Convertible leak, where to find O’ring | Pontiac G6 Forum (g6ownersclub.com)
Perhaps coydog11 found some and will post back
