Ok coming from a 91 corolla with cheap 20$ 5 1/4 speakers... my non-moonsoon system sounds amazing to me. but i was curious into adding a amp and some subs to the equation. Is this something that i can do by myself even though i really have no clue what im doing or should i pay someone to do it?

being you do not have monsoon system, you should not have any problems. I would recommend paying ~$100 for an audio place to run the power wires and tie into your rear 6x9 wires with a High Low converter. some of the High low converters have a built in remote turn on to run to the amp, which saves you a step.
