I want to change the lights from my gauges and the center dash (a/c and stereo controls). From red to bright white. Is this hard to do? What size bulbs are on the guages, and center dash. Any info on somebody that has done something like this, either reply or PM me. Thanks!!

I actually just finished last week changing everything to led. And adding around 100 leds in other spots around the car the whole process took around 8 days of working at night and on the weekend. IF your just changing the ones you said it should only take a couple days.

For the cluster you can use PLcc-2 leds or 1206 (1206 are much easier to get and cheaper)

Radio and A/C are bulbs so for white youll need 470ohm resistors and 5mm leds

The all other buttons unluck,window,dimmer,trunk, u will need 3mm also with 470ohm resistor.
5mm will be way to much work to fit in those areas and there will be no gain in more lighting. Everthing can be swithced to white except the PRND light. And the BLUE and RED around the AC temp area. And the Emergence lights button.

Another tip is get diffused leds. I wish i had some of these it helps make a more uniform light in a smaller area becuase leds are directional and sometimes i had to use some sandpaper to "scuff" the top of them to spread out the light.

I saw a pic of white and blue. Needle was blue and gauge was white I think it looked really slick

Great info Daniel!! But I dont mess with LEDs too much unless their plug in and turn on... lol...sorry. Just looking to change the color with nothing too extravagant. But Id still like to see pics of your work.

Alright, I bought a pack of 50 leds that are 1206 Super bright white LEDs for $6 bucks. Im gonna read over the how to carefully and hopefully do this MOD very soon. Thanks guys, and next time Ill use the SEARCH...

Where did ya get the grounding strap, flux and anti-static mat? Im brand new to all of this sorry. Links would be helpfull too.

you should be able to get all that at radioshack, and when it comes to the spool of solder, the smaller/finer the "wire" the better i think im gonna do a guage color change soon as well lol probably white haha
