Intermittent front speakers

I just got an 08 G6 sedan, 3.5L V6, a few weeks ago and the front speakers have been randomly not working at all, but the rear speakers and tweeters work fine. I've seen a million people have the same exact problem, did anybody find a solution to fixing this? I don't think the speakers are blown because when they turn back on they sound good as new. I don't have the monsoon sound system.
Is there any easy things I could do that might help them stay on? Maybe play with the wiring or something? Or if anyone else had the same problem how did you fix it? Thanks.

When I replaced my speakers I found one of them had a corroded connector, cleaned it and added dielectric grease. Problem solved.
It can also be the door wiring in the door jamb.
With the door open and music playing grab that mass of wires in that rubber tube in the door jamb and give them a wiggle and see if the speaker cuts in and out.
My front speakers worked intermittently so I replaced them. Worked fine ever since. I thought it was a loose connection at first but it wasn't.
I've been having a similar issue. In my case my right side speakers will go out intermittently. They'll come back sometimes for a large portion of my drive but then go out for most of the time. The right side tweeters work and if i set the balance to the right i can only hear music through them. When it comes back though everything works fine. ANy ideas?

Hey Juerujin,

How long have you been having this issue with your speakers? Since this is intermittent it may be challenging to isolate the exact cause of this issue. However, your local GM Service Team should be able to get this taken care of. Let us know if you're interested in working with them and we'll gladly reach out on your behalf.

I have been having the same issue for a while. I thought is was the stock radio going out so I installed an aftermarket but the front door woofers are still producing no sound. I checked the wires and there is signal so I am going to order some new speakers. I should have them installed sometime this week and will post the results.

Awesome. Looking forward to the results. Hopefully it works out.
I received the new speakers and confirmed the old were bad. I had to cut off the original connectors as they were corroded and now I have working front speakers again. I installed full range speakers in the bottom and kept the stock tweeters connected. So far everything is sounding great. I probably should have replaced the stock rear speakers as well but didn't feel like tearing the back seat out to get to them.

I tried a lot of the suggestions, many of them detailed. Too detailed. The easiest and simplest was taking off the door panel, pulling the speaker, and putting a meter on the wires attached to the speaker (with the key on to provide power). It indicated power, so I replaced the speakers.
If you don't have a meter, you could see about checking with another speaker that you know works. KISS. Of course, there will be others with more complicated issues that need to be resolved.

Basic speakers in a G6 aren't worth squat. I have spoken to many current and former G6 owners and the consensus is that the base level speakers on a G6 aren't worth squat.
