Does anyone here work at the plant building the G6 GTP coupe. I am from Oshawa Ontario and have tentatively ordered a red coupe but the info from GMCanada and from the dealer is very limited about delivery dates, price etc.. I ordered red with an ebony interior, sun roof, head curtain airbags and leather. I tried to find out about a spoiler and am told it is standard but no one knows what it looks like. I suspect it is just the punch out in the trunk lid. Has anyone seen the production model and if so what did the spoiler look like. I am wondering if production is lots of cars per day or has production of this model even started.

I also am very curious about this. I hate sitting here in suspense on dates. I need a new car for college, and I want a GTP sedan, and its on the Pontiac website, but it wont even let you price one.

Disappoints me, this does.

Coupe Production

Production was supposed to begin 6/6/05. Production is 1 shift at 61 jph=488 per day, but I think that is for coupes and sedans. But Orion will be doing summer shutdown. 7/4/05 and 7/11/05. They will be starting two shifts after the startup again in July.

Delivery

Well, unless there is some huge quality problem, they would ship them to the lots almost immediately. Logistically, you want to get them to dealer lots as soon as possible.

I asked a Dealer yesterday and they go, "Um, I wasn't aware of such a model, are you sure it's real?"

I fired him and asked the new person, who was a general manager at the dealership, and he said, "I know about the GTP, but I don't have the slightest idea when they are due."

Oh. That made my day. That truly, utterly, made my day.

All three at the same time. Way to go, GM. Ideally it shold've been done at the time of the G6 launch, but the world's not perfect; I'd rather wait for quality.

I hope I see the GTP's in the lot soon. If anyone see's any, POST pictures or let us know!

Well, I went down to the local dealer today and they had one coupe on the lot, a loaded GT. I wanted to drive the GTP, but oh well, they hadn't ordered one yet. Its really not that much different than the sedan in its driving characteristics, the car doesn't seem to have lost any weight along with two doors. The new steering wheel is much nicer than the crappy one most of us got stuck with. The G6 logo in the center console is now a passenger airbag warning light. There are new XM and OnStar antennas, the standalone XM antenna is mounted on the front of the car now, its much smaller than the 05's (coupes and sedans both have this new feature) and if you got both XM and OnStar then you get a single combined antenna at the front of the car. As for the little GM badges, well I guess I could live with them, they are pretty small. Still waiting for the GTP test drive...
