True, but you know when a salesman is lying to you, don't you? Because his lips are moving.ginuwine said:i never really looked that hard you think car sales men would no about what they sell morons
Opps, my bad, you're right, it's only for the 3.5. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work on the 3.9. Aren't they the same block with a longer stroke?Slickdesi said:RSM racing offers a supercharger kit for 3.5's...cant find anything on 3.9 yet..
Thanks, I guess I misunderstood what I was reading. It said the 3.9's bore remains at 99 mm but stroke is increased to 84 mm. But that's just how they got to 3.9L. It never said it was the same block. I'm retarded.TLS2000 said:The 3900 (LZ9) is a different block from the 3500 (LX9) in the G6. It shares parts with the 3500 (LZ4, LZE) in the Monte Carlo and Impala. The LZ4, LZE and LZ9 are completely new 60 degree v6's with VVT.
The 3500 (LX9) in the G6 V6 and GT is based off of the old 3400 in the Grand Am / 3100 in the Malibu. These engines do not have VVT.
So the RSM supercharger for the 3500 (LX9) will not work on the 3900 (LZ9) or the 3500 (LZ4 or LZE).
