Issues with Acceleration?

Hey everyone,

I noticed a bit of an issue with my 09 G6..I was in the middle of an intersection making a left and when I went to hit on the gas, it seemed like nothing happened. I had no power once-so-ever, to the point where I looked down to see if I was in neutral. After pushing the pedal a few times, it finally decided to respond and it acted normal ever since. I remember having this issue happen once before, but I didn't think anything of it.

Any ideas what's going on? The car only has 9300 miles and I've always used decent gasoline (Chevron, usually).

The electronic throttle control sometimes is slow to respond. There have been some complaints about it. ETC systems always have been somewhat problematic. It's better to have delayed response than unintended acceleration like Toyotas have. Check to see if this is the case with your car.
I'm used to it taking some time to get going, but this was 3-5 seconds with the accelerator half way to the floor. I'm going to take it into the dealer on Monday, but I'm expecting to get the normal "it's your imagination" line that they always give me. *sigh*
I have a 09 G6 with your mileage and no throttle issues. Actually only issues are squeaky brake pedal and phantom trunk opening on start up six times so far.

The squeaky brake pedal might be remedied by having the dealer replace the brake fluid.

As far as the throttle issue, it doesn't seem to be a widespread issue, but I did find some threads on here from 05/06 describing the same issue. No report on whether they found a solution or not.
Check the Throttle Position Sensor

Must likely the Throttle Position Sensor, which is a fancy name for a variable resistor. They are supposed to be environmentally sealed, but sometimes they get some crud inside of them and develop bad spots. It may cause a code to be logged in the ECM. I had to replace the TPS in my Jeep not long after I bought it (used).

Same issue

I have a 2008 g6 gt v6. I have been having this problem since October 2011. With many visits to the dealer. Until the engine light comes on they can't find the problem. It has gotten worse over time but still no light. Now on acceleration it still has hesitation. But when it kicks in the tires will peel off and the car says low traction. It doesn't to it all the time.

It is becoming a safety issue. When you are pulling out into traffic and the car has a hesitation. It is going to cause a wreck !

I am taking it back to the dealer tomorrow. Have you found anything out on your car ?
