I'm new here, but I have been through and through this forum and I don't see the answer to my question.

My key fob got water damage and according to the dealer, the lock/unlock feature shorted out, even though the trunk and the panic alarm buttons will work.

I've been locking my doors and unlocking them manually until I can afford to replace the fob (what a rip off!!), but now my keys will not unlock the door!! I have two keys for my car, and they both worked at some point to unlock the door, but now neither do. It doesn't make sense because both of them start the car and unlock the trunk, but will not turn either way in the driver door.

Has anyone else had this problem? What do I do?

LOL!! Yes, I'm sure no one switched cars with me!

I wound up taking it in just so I could lock it. I guess everything was just dirty inside? They cleaned it out and cleaned the keys and now it works. For as much as they charged, I should have just bought a new FOB.
