I was wondering if anyone had an idea how to "mask" your license plate cover so cameras cannot see it/take pics of it. I have a tinted license plate cover which isn't enough obviously, but I saw a BMW the other day that had a clear cover, and in the center there was a clear strip across it so that unless you were dead center behind it, you couldn't see his plate at all. anyone know what I'm talking about/where to find it or something better?

The law says to obstruct the view of the plate. Obstruct means to block from sight. Tinted covers don't block the viewing of your plate. If a cop said that to me I'd fight it in court for sure. It doesn't smear/fog/distort etc. your plate number in any way.

All I know is I had a completely clear cover on my rear plate, made it maybe 2 weeks before I got pulled over and was told to remove it. But I'm in Illinois...
